About
the workshops
What makes these workshop unique? First, we always delve into a natural history subject during each session, even if it comes from my own collection. We'll explore various topics, from photographing objects inside bottles to capturing microscopic slides in other workshops.
One of my favorite tools is the Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5x macro lens, which offers five times magnification. This allows us to photograph subjects nearly invisible to the naked eye. I'll also demonstrate how to use the Godox flash system for perfect lighting. We have an extensive range of equipment and a vast natural history collection at our disposal.
Our workshops can cover both home studios and outdoor settings. Currently, I only travel within Nottinghamshire, but we can negotiate for locations further afield.
Some workshops are designed for one-on-one sessions. However, if you prefer to share the cost with friends, we can discuss group pricing. Other workshops will be group sessions.

Oak Tree in a Bottle
This subject is an oak tree growing inside a bottle. Unusual, but such things do happen, and when they do, they must be documented. Capturing this image was quite challenging due to the complex lighting setup required.
